TechPods x Bath Rugby: a new chapter for us in our new home city

If you follow us on social media, you may have already seen the news. Now it's official on our own website too, and we wanted to give a bit more information than a single post allows.

Bath Rugby has welcomed us as a new official Club Partner, marking the beginning of a multi-year partnership between our two organisations.

The partnership coincides with an important new chapter for us as we relocate our UK commercial headquarters from London to Bath, strengthening our long-term commitment to the city and the wider South West.

A Homecoming for TechPods

We were founded in 2018 and provide elite software engineering teams and technology solutions to organisations across the UK and Europe. Through our transparent Co-Sourcing model, we provide experienced software Engineers and technology specialists who integrate directly into clients' existing teams, systems and ways of working. We operate between our Engineering HQ in Sofia, Bulgaria, and our new Commercial HQ in Bath, bringing together engineering expertise with a growing UK presence.

The move to Bath represents something of a homecoming for us. Our journey began in the South West, where we secured our first major UK technology partnership in 2018. Eight years later, we're returning to the region as an established international technology business.

A lot has changed since then. What started as one partnership has grown into a business with Engineers in Sofia, clients across the UK and Europe, and now a commercial team based in Bath. Coming back to the place where it all began, with a club like Bath Rugby alongside us, feels like the right way to mark that.

What the Partnership Includes

Branding at The Rec

As part of the agreement, TechPods branding will feature prominently at The Rec throughout the season, including exclusive branding of the Bath Rugby dugouts.

The Rec stands as one of England's most distinguished rugby venues, positioned prominently within the city centre adjacent to the River Avon. On match occasions, the entire community of Bath visibly gravitates toward this iconic facility.

Should you have attended a match during the current season, you may have observed our presence. The TechPods branding is now prominently displayed along the dugout padding situated on the touchline, while the transparent end panels showcase our latest offering, Elite Systems. Elite Teams. It's where the coaches and replacements sit for every home game, right on the edge of the pitch, which puts us about as close to the action as a partner can get.

Sponsoring Sam Underhill

We will also become an official player sponsor of England international and Bath Rugby back row Sam Underhill. Sam is a club centurion, with more than 100 appearances in the Blue, Black and White, and a player Bath supporters know very well.

Beyond Matchdays

Beyond matchdays, the partnership will provide a platform for us to become more closely involved with the Bath and South West business community, with both organisations looking to explore opportunities that bring together sport, business and technology across the region.

Welcome to The Rec

We couldn't have asked for a better advert for what we've signed up to. Last Friday night, Bath hosted Exeter Chiefs in Round 2 of the Gallagher Premiership in front of a sold-out Rec, and the game had a bit of everything.

Bath went into a 26-10 lead at one point with tries from Cameron Redpath, Bernard van der Linde, Dan du Preez and Finn Russell. Exeter came back with three tries after the break and took a 31-26 lead. Then Bath stepped up their game. A penalty try and a late try from replacement Ted Hill made the score 40-34. That was their bonus-point victory in two games.

For us, that second half showed a lot about the club we have just started working with. Falling behind. Then finding a way to come back requires structure, trust and people who keep doing their jobs when the pressure is on. That is what we look for in an engineering team.

The partnership comes as we enter our ninth year of operation and introduce our new positioning, "Elite Systems. Elite Teams.", reflecting our focus on smaller, highly capable engineering teams and modern technology solutions.

With our Engineering HQ remaining in Sofia and our UK commercial operations now based in Bath, we will use our new South West presence to support business development, sales, account management and marketing across the UK.
