TechPods has a new home in the UK.
We’re delighted to announce the opening of our new Commercial Headquarters in Bath, England, marking an important milestone in the continued evolution of TechPods and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our business.
Our new office is located in the House of St John’s, an iconic Georgian building in the heart of Bath (BA1). Situated on Queen Square and overlooking the park, it is difficult to imagine a more fitting home for the next stage of the TechPods journey.
But this announcement is about much more than a new office.
It represents a wider restructure of TechPods around two specialist headquarters: our Commercial HQ in Bath and our Engineering HQ in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Two cities. Two specialist hubs. One TechPods.
Building TechPods for its next chapter
TechPods was founded in 2018 with a relatively simple ambition: to build a better way for companies to access and work with exceptional software engineering talent.
There are a lot of things that have changed since then.
We have grown from a small start-up into an established technology company focused on building long-term partnerships with businesses across the UK and Europe. We aimed to develop an exceptional engineering organisation in Bulgaria and navigated a technology market that has transformed dramatically over the past eight years.
As TechPods has evolved, so too has the way we need to structure the company.
Our latest restructure creates two clearly defined centres of excellence within the business.
Bath becomes our Commercial HQ, responsible for Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Business Analysis and our wider commercial activities.
Sofia remains our Engineering HQ, responsible for Software Engineering, Delivery, Recruitment, HR and Operations.
This distinction is important.
Our expansion in the UK does not represent a move away from Bulgaria. Quite the opposite.
Bulgaria remains fundamental to TechPods and to everything we have built.
Sofia remains our Engineering HQ
For eight years, Bulgaria has been at the heart of TechPods.
It is where we have built our engineering organisation, developed our recruitment capabilities, established our operational infrastructure and created the culture that has enabled TechPods to grow.
That does not change.
Our Engineering HQ in Sofia will continue to be the centre of our technical and operational organisation, bringing together the people responsible for engineering, recruitment, HR, delivery and operations.
Bulgaria has developed an outstanding reputation as a European technology hub, combining deep technical expertise with a strong engineering culture and access to highly skilled professionals.
For TechPods, however, Bulgaria is much more than a convenient location for engineering talent. It is our foundation.
We have spent years investing in our people, processes and infrastructure there, and our Sofia operation remains integral to our long-term strategy.
The restructure is therefore not about replacing one location with another. It is about giving each part of the company a clearer purpose.
Sofia is our Engineering HQ.
Bath is our Commercial HQ.
Together, they form the operating structure that we believe will take TechPods forward.
Why Bath?
Our UK commercial base has traditionally been London.
For many technology businesses, London is the obvious choice. It offers scale, connectivity and access to one of the largest concentrations of technology companies, investors and corporate headquarters in Europe.
But TechPods has never believed in doing something simply because it is what technology companies are expected to do.
For some time, we had been considering moving our commercial operation away from London and establishing ourselves somewhere that better reflected the type of company we have become and the relationships we want to build.
Bath increasingly became the obvious answer.

The city combines an extraordinary heritage with a thriving modern business community. Bath and the wider South West are home to ambitious businesses across technology, energy, engineering, professional services and many other industries.
It also feels remarkably familiar to TechPods.
In many respects, moving our Commercial HQ to the South West feels less like entering a new market and more like coming home.
Returning to our South West roots
The South West has been part of the TechPods story since the very beginning.
Our first ever client was a major energy company based in the region.
That relationship began when TechPods itself was just getting started and continues today, making it not only our first client relationship but also one of the foundations upon which our company was built. Let that sink in, a client - vendor relationship that has gone from strength to strength for 8+ years is truly remarkable, and clearly shows what TechPods is all about.
Since then, we have had the opportunity to work with some organisations across the South West, strengthening our connection with the region over many years.
Those relationships have helped shape TechPods.
They demonstrated early on that physical distance did not need to create organisational distance. An engineering team in Bulgaria could work as a genuine extension of a company in the UK when the relationship was built around transparency, communication, shared responsibility and trust.
That principle became central to our original Co-Sourcing NOT Outsourcing philosophy.
Eight years later, our model has evolved considerably, but the underlying belief remains the same - the best technology partnerships are built by bringing great people together around a common objective.
Establishing our Commercial HQ in Bath brings us physically closer to a region that has played an important role in our story from the start.
A home that reflects TechPods
Choosing the right office was also important.
If Bath is going to become the long-term commercial home of TechPods, we wanted our physical presence in the city to reflect that commitment.
The House of St John’s does exactly that.

Set within one of Bath’s quintessential Georgian stone buildings, our new office combines the heritage and character for which the city is famous with a professional environment designed for modern businesses.
Located in the heart of Bath and overlooking the park, it gives TechPods a prestigious and highly accessible base from which to build our UK commercial operation.
There is also something particularly appropriate about establishing a technology company inside a building surrounded by centuries of history.
Technology is constantly changing. The tools we use today will evolve, the market will evolve, and the way software is created will continue to evolve.
Great organisations survive those changes because they adapt without losing sight of their foundations.
That is precisely what TechPods is doing.
From London to Bath
Leaving London as our primary commercial base was not a decision we made overnight.
London has been an important part of our journey and will continue to be an important market for TechPods. We will continue working with companies in London and across the UK.
But our headquarters should represent where we want to build, not simply where convention says a technology company should be based.
Having our headquarters in Bath will allow us to establish deeper relationships across the South West but at the same time we will remain exceptionally well connected to London and the rest of the UK. More importantly, it will give TechPods somewhere we genuinely want to call home.
Our ambition is to build relationships with local companies, attend and support regional events, collaborate with other organisations and contribute to the continued development of the South West technology ecosystem. We want to become part of the Bath business community rather than simply having an address in the city.
This is a long-term move, but we are ready to walk the path.
A wider evolution at TechPods
The restructure also arrives at an important time for our industry.
The technology market of 2026 is very different from the market in which TechPods was founded in 2018.
For years, the technology sector was dominated by rapid expansion. Businesses wanted to scale engineering teams quickly, often adding significant numbers of developers to support aggressive growth plans.
Today, the conversation has changed, and so have our answers.
Companies increasingly want smaller, highly capable teams. They want experienced engineers who can solve complex problems, work effectively with modern technologies and AI-enabled development tools, and deliver measurable outcomes without unnecessary organisational complexity.
Quality matters more than quantity.
That evolution is reflected in our own transition from “Co-Sourcing NOT Outsourcing” towards our new positioning:
Our organisational structure now reflects the same philosophy.
We are building specialist teams around what they do best.
Commercial strategy and customer relationships in Bath.
Engineering, people and delivery in Sofia.
Both working together as one organisation.
Closer to our customers
Having a dedicated Commercial HQ in the UK also allows us to spend more time where it matters most: with our customers.
Technology remains a people business.
Despite advances in AI, automation and remote collaboration, strong commercial relationships still depend on conversations, trust and understanding.
Our Bath team will provide a dedicated base for meeting existing clients, welcoming prospective partners and developing new relationships across the South West and the wider UK.
At the same time, those commercial relationships connect directly with our Engineering HQ in Sofia.
The objective is straightforward: create a structure in which our commercial organisation can stay exceptionally close to the customer while our engineering organisation remains completely focused on delivering exceptional technology.
The next eight years
TechPods recently celebrated its eighth birthday.
Reaching that milestone naturally creates an opportunity to look back at what has been achieved, but we are considerably more interested in what happens next.
The companies that survive and grow over the long term are rarely the companies that refuse to change.
They are the ones that understand what made them successful, protect those foundations and adapt everything else.
Our Engineering HQ in Sofia represents the foundations we have spent eight years building.
Our new Commercial HQ in Bath represents where we are going next.
The move brings us closer to our South West roots, creates a permanent home for our UK commercial organisation and gives TechPods a structure designed for the next phase of the technology market.
From a quintessential Georgian building in the heart of Bath to an engineering organisation built over eight years in Sofia, the locations may look very different.
Their purpose, however, is shared.
To bring together exceptional people, build exceptional technology and create partnerships designed to last.
Bath, England - Commercial HQ.
Sofia, Bulgaria - Engineering HQ.
Elite Systems. Elite Teams.
Welcome to the next chapter of TechPods.
Frequently asked questions
Is TechPods still headquartered in Sofia?
Sofia, Bulgaria is TechPods' Engineering HQ, home to software engineering, delivery, recruitment, and people and operations. Bath, UK is now TechPods' Commercial HQ, covering business development, sales, marketing and account management.
Why did TechPods move its UK base to Bath?
The move creates a clearer structure between TechPods' commercial and engineering functions, giving each a dedicated home built for what it needs to do.
Does this change how TechPods delivers engineering work for clients?
No. Engineering delivery continues to run out of Sofia exactly as before. The change affects where TechPods' commercial team is based, not how our engineers are staffed or managed.
