Role Description
TechPods is a UK-based technology co-sourcing company with offices in Bath, England and Sofia, Bulgaria.Unlike traditional IT outsourcing companies, our fully transparent model enables companies to scale quicker, while mitigating risk and reducing costs. We strongly believe that traditional outsourcing is obsolete, and the key to long-term success is co-sourcing, not outsourcing.
We’re currently looking for a Software AI & Data Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team supporting a UK - based AI company in the proptech space. The team is building intelligent software that automates and standardises complex real estate data, enabling industry professionals to make faster, more informed decisions with clean, reliable insights. The product is already trusted by some of the most prominent names in the global commercial real estate market.
If you think you could be the talent we’re looking for, then keep reading!
What you’ll be doing
- AI-powered data extraction - turning complex real-estate documents and spreadsheets into structured data
- Data standardisation - automatically mapping inconsistent customer data into a common schema
- Human-in-the-loop workflows - building interfaces that let users understand, review and correct what our systems have done
- AI-native product features - exploring how LLMs, agents and MCP can make working with real-estate data dramatically easier
- Customer integrations and APIs - getting clean, validated data into the systems our customers already use
This isn't a role where somebody hands you perfectly specified tickets.
You'll work with product, engineers, Customer Success and occasionally customers themselves to understand a problem, shape a solution, build it, ship it and see whether it worked.
What we’ll expect from you
You’re likely to have a few years of professional software-engineering experience and be comfortable delivering features independently.
- Take ownership of features from initial problem through to production
- Break ambiguous problems into practical pieces of work
- Write maintainable, well-tested software
- Be comfortable working across backend, data and occasionally frontend code
- Debug unfamiliar systems rather than staying inside one narrow area
- Communicate clearly with engineers and non-engineers
- Use modern AI development tools effectively rather than treating them as an autocomplete
- Have strong opinions loosely held and be willing to challenge how things are currently built
Experience with Python, TypeScript/Node.js, SQL, cloud infrastructure or data-intensive systems would be particularly useful. You do not need previous commercial-real-estate experience.
