We're looking for a Python Developer who will work collaboratively within an agile software development team. The position is open for a Manchester-based market leader who develops behaviour-based assessments, combining neuroscience, AI, and gamification.
About the role
This role sits in our PsEngin squad (Psychometrics & Engineers), with primary responsibility for working with the Senior Developers to develop our new scoring functions.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting our Python service (Datahub), crucial for our customers and a significant revenue generator. This role involves ensuring system functionality, facilitating seamless submission of session data, accurate scoring, and enabling customer access to results via Datahub or their ATS. Additionally, it includes developing enhancements to empower the Community team for better self-service in managing support requests
- Opportunities exist to become a core member of the scoring team, contributing to continuous improvements in our primary offerings. Our Engineering environment is versatile, offering the right candidate the chance to explore additional skills such as DevOps within AWS, working with JVM services like Scala & Kotlin, or contributing to front-end technologies like React & Typescript
- Delivering high-quality production code accompanied by thorough testing and documentation
- Actively exploring and advocating for innovative technologies and design methodologies.
- Fostering collaboration through engaging discussions and teamwork
You’re the right person for us if you have experience with:
- Python 3.8 or higher is a must for this role
- Relational databases such as Aurora, PostgreSQL, or MySQL are essential
- Pytest or a similar testing framework is highly valued
- Strong experience with Flask or FastAPI is required
- Agile development practices are preferred
- Git for version control
- Supporting a production server on Unix-like operating systems is advantageous
