We're currently looking for a Data Engineer who will work collaboratively within a fast-paced software development team. The position is open within one of our well-established partners, specialising in fast-growing technology, data science, and high-quality SaaS solutions that automate data science using advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques. In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimising our data infrastructure, pipelines, and processing systems.

What you’ll be doing

- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Developing and optimising data processing systems
- Implementing and managing data storage solutions, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility
- Collaborating with data scientists to develop and implement NLP models and algorithms for text and sentiment analysis
- Staying current with the latest research and developments in NLP and incorporating new techniques as appropriate
- Establishing and enforcing data quality standards, data governance policies, and best practices
- Implementing data validation, monitoring, and anomaly detection mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and consistency
What we’ll expect from you
- Proven experience in Data Engineering
- Strong experience with data lake technologies (Databricks, Snowflake) for data processing and ML workflows
- Familiarity with data transformation and orchestration tools (e.g., DBT, Airflow)
- Solid understanding of distributed data processing frameworks and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, columnar storage)
- Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Proficiency in Python or other programming languages and big data technologies (Kafka, HBase, Cassandra)
- Demonstrated experience in social media data ingestion and processing, utilising APIs and web scraping techniques
- A track record of applying NLP and machine learning techniques to real-world problems (including GPT, BERT, or Transformer-based models)
- Excellent communication skills, an adaptable and easy-going mindset, and fluency in English
